Paraguay on Friday confirmed the first death in the country due to coronavirus, the health ministry said on Twitter.
Earlier on Friday, President Mario Abdo extended a previously announced quarantine through April 12, and called for a social isolation policy to last one week.
Paraguay has thus far recorded 18 cases of coronavirus.
